My job includes disciplines and areas in internal audits and inspections, clinical research, life sciences, MoL inspections and training and laboratory safety. I am knowledgeable in the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Human Pathogens and Toxins Act and Canadian Biosafety Standards, CFIA animal pathogen imports, Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations, WHIMS 2015, Ontario Fire Code and Environmental Protection Act. My role includes developing and providing training to new and current employees and students, managing and providing training on research equipment. creating and reviewing departmental and organizational manuals, polices and procedures to meet internal and external requirements and regulations, reviewing internal applications required for our research laboratories to do their work and conducting lab audits. An educated safety professional with a Bachelor of Science (BSc) Major in Biology and Minor in Biomedical Science from the University of Guelph. Attended the CSSE 2018 conference and PIP conferences 2019 and 2022 and member of the WOHSS.
