I joined Goodman Allen Donnelly in 2019, and although my office is in the firm's Norfolk branch, I handle matters throughout Virginia. My practice focuses on bankruptcy and creditors' rights, tort defense, and business and consumer litigation. Simply put: Clients trust me to approach all insolvency issues with decisive action and thoughtful solutions. I represent creditors, lenders and foreclosure trustees in litigation cases and secured and unsecured creditors and trustees in Chapter 7, 11 and 13 bankruptcy cases and loan restructurings. I also represent insureds in personal injury and premises liability cases, business negligence cases and automobile accident cases. With extensive knowledge of the Uniform Commercial Code and secured transactions, I have handled litigation cases involving warranty claims including manufacturer and product warranties. My experience includes nearly two decades as Chapter 7 panel trustee for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District, serving in more than 10,000 bankruptcy cases. Throughout my career, I have held leadership positions in numerous bar associations in Virginia and given multiple presentations on Virginia bankruptcy law, creditors' rights, ethics, and trustee issues. I have my father to thank for a lifelong devotion to sports. Watching football with my dad at the age of 3 led to a lifetime of watching and attending sporting events. Football, basketball, hockey, tennis - I follow them all, fervently dissecting plays and strategies. If my studies and passion hadn't led me to a legal career, perhaps I'd have become a sportscaster?
