I am embarking on my 18th year as an officer for Sussex. Within the last 18 years I have fulfilled many roles from response officer, visor officer, what was the appointment setting department many moons ago, then RIT before I passed my detectives exam and went over to Safeguarding which was an amazing role. 6 years ago this year I became the first female representative within the Sussex Federation office, initially as the Treasurer and Equality Lead and now as the Treasurer and Deputy Chair.In 2018 I was awarded the Evolve Inspirational Women award, this was an amazing event and I am honoured to have been acknowledged for such an achievement.Over the last year and half I have had the opportunity to be a Slimming World consultant alongside my day job after successfully losing 5 stone myself and making it my own mission to no longer struggle with the fitness test. This opportunity gave me the chance to meet and work alongside many different members of the community, to give them the support and encouragement they needed to achieve something they thought was only a dream. I have seen people change not only in appearance but in confidence and health. We are surrounded by amazing people and taking the time to get to know some of them should be embraced by all.
