Co-Chief Executive OfficerValues Through History Educational Nonprofit Jan 1999 - PresentHouston, Texas, United StatesValues Through History (VTH) is a §501C(3) educational nonprofit. Answering the need for a method of teaching the nation’s founding history and civic principles that would be a profound learning experience that students internalize and retain and yet fit within school schedules and meet all requirements, the directors spent ten years creating the Why America Is Free Curriculum. Once the outstanding academic and behavioral benefits of this hands-on, fully integrated curriculum were proven in diverse elementary schools, respected institutions, historians, and educators reviewed it for accuracy, adherence to state requirements, best methods, multiple perspectives, and to confirm its lack of partisan or religious slant. It was found to be superb by all measures. We at VTH now provide the curriculum and train school faculty, administrators, and volunteers in its best implementation (to date over 150 schools in 15 states). Incrementally the hard-copy materials are now being converted to online digital format. My co-director and I created this curriculum and lead the work of the organization. At the request of the American Society of the French Legion of Honor and the Society of the Cincinnati. we have also published a richly illustrated book that brings to life the American Revolution and the critical alliance with France. Information on the book "Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary Route and the Franco-American Alliance" can be seen at https://www.washingtonrochambeau.org/ and revenue from sale of the book helps fund VTH.
