As a new trustee I am focused on supporting the existing work the talented and dedicated board have done so far by bringing in new perspectives and insights from my career as a People and Culture Director and coach. Alongside providing governance and challenge, we are passionate about the voices of young people shaping our plans and they are and will continue to be at the heart of the project. As a parent and aunt, I’m passionate about creating life changes experiences for young people from less privileged life backgrounds. I have the determination alongside my fellow board members to make the Youth Zone a sustainable success now and in the future. Crewe Youth Zone is an independent charity which is proud to be part of the OnSide Youth Zone network. Our landmark building is under construction with completion scheduled for 2026. Once the doors open, thousands of young people from across Crewe and beyond will have access to life-changing facilities and opportunities. It’s about much more than bricks and mortar and the YZ will establish a highly skilled team of youth workers to provide vital engagement, encouragement and support that our young people need to thrive. The centre will be a safe and aspirational space for a diverse range of young people - with sports,arts,performance and enterprise facilities on offer. Significant capital funding has already been secured from a number of partners : Cheshire East Council, Crewe’s Youth Town Fund and the Youth Investment Fund. We are currently engaging with the private sector to raise revenue funds through a Founder Patron campaign to seek the support of those who love Crewe and want to make a positive difference in the area.
