In this role I am responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance in Crew Operations by acting as the primary point of contact within the business unit for all federally mandated rules, programs, and/or procedures. I regularly interface with the FAA, industry peers, and the Southwest Airlines Regulatory Programs and Compliance Department to ensure an accurate interpretation and application of CFRs and other regulations related to Crew Operations. Frequently, interpret CFRs and federally mandated rules, and developed them into processes and processes and procedures for Southwest Airlines Crew Schedulers. I also have the responsibility for briefing Inflight Crew Operations and the Southwest Airlines Regulatory Compliance Leaders on Inflight Crew Scheduling regulatory violations, and providing corrective action recommendations.In addition to acting as a regulatory compliance subject matter expert, I work in collaboration with the Southwest Airlines Central Publications Department on drafting, revising, and publishing required manuals and documentation for Inflight Crew Scheduling. Additionally, I am responsible for writing and issuing regulatory compliance communications to Inflight Crew Scheduling employees.

During my tenure in the manager role, I led the Southwest Airlines’ Inflight Crew Scheduling Department, which included oversight of daily operations and its 100 employees, worked as the direct Leader of the Inflight Crew Scheduling Assistant Managers and Scheduling Support Supervisor, and was responsible for their coaching and career development. I also supported Inflight Crew Scheduling Assistant Managers and Supervisors with the development of the department’s employees. Additionally, I worked in conjunction with Inflight Crew Operations Senior Leaders to develop and implement the vision, goals, staffing, growth, and strategic planning for the Inflight Crew Scheduling Department. Other responsibilities included:• Drafting and publishing written communications related to the Inflight Crew Scheduling operation for Southwest Airlines Crew Schedulers and Flight Attendants, and regularly communicating with Inflight Crew Schedulers on policies, procedures, and departmental updates.• Responding to questions and/or inquiries related to Inflight Crew Scheduling policies and procedures. • Leading Inflight Crew Schedulers through changes related to the Southwest Airlines operation, the implementation of a Flight Attendant Contract ratification, and numerous departmental policy and procedural changes. • Responsible for the development and execution of Inflight Scheduling’s operational plan, during normal and irregular operations, as well as communicating the department’s operational status to Southwest Airlines Inflight and Operational Leaders.• Collaborating with Flight Operations Crew Scheduling and Network Operations Control (NOC) Leaders on the Southwest Airlines operational plan during irregular operations and natural disasters impacting the flying network.• Working in conjunction with the Inflight Labor Relations Department and Flight Attendant Union Representatives on contractual interpretations and grievances pertaining to the Inflight Scheduling Department.

As an Inflight Base Manager - NOC, I supported the Inflight Operations Department by proactively gathering, responding to, and communicating information related to the Southwest Airlines flight operation and/or Inflight Operations Employees. In this role, I led the Assistant Manager of Inflight Standards and oversaw the Southwest Airlines Flight Attendant Irregularity Reporting Program. Primary responsibilities included:• Collaborating with the Inflight Standards team to assess risks and safety hazards, and developing and revised procedures based on risk assessment data and to ensure regulatory compliance. • Served as a liaison between the Inflight Operations Department and other operational departments within Southwest Airlines, to ensure Flight Attendant procedures consistently interfaced and harmonized accurately• Worked in conjunction with Inflight Base Leadership on the continued integration of AirTran Airways Flight Attendants into Southwest Airlines• Maintained oversight of AirTran Airways’ Flight Attendant Manual, Flight Attendant uniform and appearance standards, Inflight regulatory compliance, and Flight Attendant communications

As the Manager of In-flight Standards, I maintained regulatory oversight of AirTran Airways Flight Attendant procedures and responsibilities, and was responsible for the development, revision and publishing of the AirTran Airways Flight Attendant Manual. I ensured manual content was compliant with all applicable Federal Aviation Administration and Transportation Security Administration Regulations, and AirTran Airways policies and procedures.In addition to maintaining the Flight Attendant Manual, I worked with my team to research emerging cabin safety industry trends, new Federal Aviation Administration and Transportation Security Administration Regulations, concepts and techniques to update current manual guidance as appropriate. Reviewed Flight Attendant safety audit data and identified trends which required risk mitigation and/or remediation. I also developed and maintained an accountable and mutually respectful relationship with the FAA, aviation industry counterparts, and AirTran Airways Company Leaders.

As the In-flight Standards Specialist, I was responsible for quarterly Flight Attendant Manual revisions, and writing Flight Attendant memos and communications, to include the monthly Inflight Standards Review. Frequently facilitated Recurrent and Initial Flight Attendant training classes. Managed AirTran Airways Compliance Ride program and led a team of 20 auditors; oversaw and managed all training, scheduling and reporting for the program.
