Client: Department of Energy. Responsible for ensuring that design documents (PFD’s, P&ID’s, calculations, system descriptions, automation documents, interlock matrices, etc.) are compliant with Client requirements, as well as DOE standards, industry codes & standards, and federal & state regulations; participate in hazard analysis and operability reviews; interface with supporting disciplines to ensure engineering design incorporates process requirements; assist Project Manager in developing and statusing budgets, schedules, staffing plans, and performance reviews; serve as process engineering liaison on Lessons Learned Team.

Client: Department of Energy. Responsible for ensuring technical adequacy, quality, clarity and procedural compliance for calculations, reports, drawings, specifications, and all other deliverables from High Level Waste (HLW) Mechanical Systems; performing safety evaluations and ensuring authorization basis compliance for primary documents; coordinating Dangerous Waste Permit packages for HLW to DOE/Ecology; assisting Supervisor in developing and statusing budgets and schedules, staffing profiles, and annual reviews & development plans.

Client: Voridian/Eastman Chemical Company. Engineering Manger responsibilities include direction & review of all engineering activities; technical resource management; staffing requirements; standards/procedures utilization & compliance; overall project performance; and Bechtel/Voridian Carolina Operations Alliance coach. Project Engineering responsibilities include scope, budget, & schedule definition and control; project progress and performance reporting; change management; P&ID development; design safety reviews; and mechanical/systems design.

Client: Eastman Chemical Company. Provided direction & guidance to other Project Engineers as well as leading my own projects. Responsibilities include scope, budget, & schedule definition and control; project progress and performance reporting; change management; P&ID development; design safety reviews; and mechanical/systems design. Mechanical/system design activities included equipment specification & purchase, process & utility design calculations, and relief system design. Typical equipment included pumps, heat exchangers, tanks, safety relief devices, filters, dust collectors, blowers, agitators, catalytic & thermal oxidizers, etc.

Client: Department of Energy. Lead mechanical/process engineer on multiple projects for Environmental Restoration Division and WR/ITP Division. Projects included groundwater remediation, soil vapor extraction, underground storage tank closures, landfill closures, waste removal, and defense waste processing facility support. Obtained DOE “L” security clearance.
