I am an independently licensed clinical social worker in the State of Maryland (LCSW-C) and am also a psychotherapist by extensive post masters training in individual, family, and group therapy. I am steeped in psychoanalysis and the psychiatric medical practice driven by the pharmaceutical and insurance industry. Knowing that information is only a description of my foundation in the treatment of the individual, family and group. As my career advanced, I earned a certificate to conduct CBT by the Beck Institute, completed the requirements to be a DBT therapist, and have extensively researched and applied the evidence-based treatment for alcohol abuse, drug abuse, and codependency. I have a different platform of interest and specialty at this time. I believe that the pandemic has brought into sharp focus the fragility of the mental and physical health of the family unit. In addition, the mental health community as we have known it, is in total collapse and our community resources that sustain these families are at risk of being either unattainable or minimal in assistance.My role of being a relationship consultant also includes services to assist agencies in the efficient application of resource coordination without compromise to quality of care.I remain involved in helping those adults and young adults who are in recovery from alcoholism, addiction and codependency.
