Hawaii Pops makes each concert an event. Held in Ballrooms in Waikiki hotels or the Hawaii Convention Center, attendees can enjoy food and beverages while dancing the night away to the music of Maestro Cattingub and the Pops orchestra. As the co-founder and executive director, I was responsible for:* Creating and implementing the business plan for the creation of a Pops orchestra in Hawaii with a new and innovative concept * Managing staff, volunteers and contracted workers to produce concerts• Work closely with board of directors and recruited most new board members from various areas of the community• Managing all aspects of development, marketing, operations, public relations and marketing directly or with pro bono assistance from board and community• Establishing strong sponsorship program and in-kind donations for airfare, hotel rooms, and media• Recruiting volunteer leadership for an education program for public and private school students* Handling most of the fundraising using standard methods

With the UH Foundation's assistance, I identified and cultivated major gift donors for the Institute for Astronomy. In addition to donor solicitations, I did the following:* Srranged tours of the telescopes on Mauna Kea and Halealaka. • Worked closely with faculty on major proposals for specific projects• Conducted tours of telescopes on Mauna Kea and Haleakala to recruit major gift donors• Worked with IFA Friends Council on PR and public education • Arranged lecture series and receptions for student and public education

Owner of the Vera Wang Boutique at the Halekulani. This was a life styles store that only sold Vera Wang licensed merchandise, including crystal, silver, fragrance, lingerie, clothing and cards. I worked closely with staff and store manager.

I joined the team to raise more than $50 million to rebuild the visitor center at the USS Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor. Meeting and working with veterans and Pearl Harbor survivors was an amazing experience. While there, I did the following with an amazing staff, board and volunteers.• Used all aspects of standard fundraising techniques to raise funds, including annual giving, major gifts, sponsorships, and foundations.• Registered the organization to legally raise funds in all 50 states• Worked with mainland consulting firm to reach campaign goals• Prepared monthly reports for the board of directors• Conducted tours of Memorial for potential donors, corporate sponsors and dignitaries from around the country

Highlights of my time with the Honolulu Symphony include:• Reorganized the Development Department at the Honolulu Symphony to increase contributions through partnerships with diverse groups of supporters• Implemented major gift program for the Honolulu Symphony for annual fund and special debt reduction campaign• Developed and implemented plan that resulted in the highest level of contributed revenue (FY97) in the history of the Honolulu Symphony (more than $4 million)• Provided support and leadership for volunteer-driven events
