I negotiated and drafted all agreements relating to NBC Sports programming (excluding Olympics), reporting directly to the President of NBC Sports. I reduced costs by successfully negotiating, drafting and executing complex joint venture agreements agreements previously handled by outside counsel. I also negotiated and drafted deal memoranda, letters of understanding, rights agreements and time buy agreements. Key agreements handled included The PGA Tour, NASCAR, Wimbledon, The French Open, and the AFL.I created new form agreements and simplified and updated existing forms which improved the rate of execution for time buy agreements and reduced time from verbal agreement to final, signed document.I advised programming and business development executives in connection with development and launch of new events/programming, structuring of joint ventures and overall implementation of business development initiatives to ensure satisfaction of strategic goals. I negotiated all non-staff on-air talent agreements and employment agreements for NBC Sports staff producers and directors on time and within budget. I consulted as needed with internal legal staff on tax, intellectual property and labor and employment matters and managed relationship with outside immigration counsel.I supervised one paralegal responsible for inbound video rights clearances and outbound footage licensing.
