Few programs that support students with unique needs and challenges are able to report the type of impact Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) has had on more than one million students nationwide. By supporting students in academic achievement and employability skills attainment, JAG allows for both cognitive and social development necessary for success beyond high school.Since 2012, students participating in Jobs for America’s Graduates New Jersey (JAG NJ) have graduated at a rate of 92% to 100%--more than double the rate of their school peers. Graduation rates alone don’t tell the entire story, though. JAG NJ students typically find employment at more than double the rate of their peers and they report changes in attitude towards education, increased attendance and optimism about their futures.

Quality Control and Exportation ManagementPrimary contact for daily exportation logistics and reports which encompassed 22,000 boxes of gypsophila and liatris (flowers) annually; directly managed quality control process for 12 supervisors and indirectly for 170 employees; identified and reacted to potential and existing quality problems within a 25-acre plantation; brain-stormed for and experimented with ideas for increased production and quality within a limited budget.

Raised entire funds necessary through Variety Children’s Lifeline to obtain life-saving operation for 11-year-old boy; taught art, manual dexterity and right brain development to first through sixth grade students in impoverished rural village; worked with 4-F Club (nonprofit youth organization) teaching research, marketing and development of small income-generating projects; wrote proposal and successfully raised entire remaining funds for completion of community center construction; worked on staff for monthly Peace Corps Volunteer periodical, elected and served as Women in Development co-coordinator.
