Manage and coordinate all services for this unique collaborative organization that brings together a wide variety of individuals and groups (such as employment providers, school professionals, representatives for the local Workforce Investment Boards, DOR and RCEB staff, etc.) that are committed to creating more employment opportunities for people with disabilities living in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. Responsible for planning and facilitating monthly meetings, weekly updates to all members, developing partnerships with employers in the region, creating a Business Advisory Council and providing support and education to individuals and organizations around the benefits of work.

Responsible for the overall management, supervision, and strategic leadership of a nonprofit agency that provides community-based wrap-around services to adults with Asperger’s Syndrome, high functioning autism, and other neurodevelopmental disabilities. Focus on developing and maintaining high-quality and effective services that meet the needs of persons served, including case management, day program, and employment services. Instrumental in stabilizing the organization operationally and financially, building community partnerships, and enhancing the agency’s reputation in the community.Significant Achievements•Oversaw agency transition to a person-centered model.•Turned around financial position of the organization by reducing and streamlining overhead expenses, increasing sources of revenue, and building healthy reserves•Created and strengthened ties with other community organizations and funders. •Developed new services, including a supported employment program funded by the California State Department of Rehabilitation and Regional Center of the East Bay•Worked with the Master Gardeners of Contra Costa County to develop a community garden that serves as a peaceful and comfortable setting for staff, persons served, and visitors•Managed a diverse staff with a variety of educational backgrounds, including motivating and coaching staff to perform at high levels.•Successfully steered organization through Covid-19 pandemic.

Responsible for the overall management, supervision, and strategic leadership of a nonprofit agency that provides residential services and independent living skills training to young adults with learning and developmental challenges, such as ASD, ADHD, and nonverbal learning disabilities. This unique private-pay program attracts individuals and their families from all across the country. Areas of strength include recruitment, staff development, community relations, financial management, and strong customer service. Significant Achievements∙ Stabilized the organization’s finances and significantly built up the agency's reserves. Provided guidance and support to the organization as it matured from a young struggling agency to one that had a strong reputation and filled a niche for young adults with disabilities transitioning into adulthood. ∙ Increased enrollment and doubled the number of individuals served by marketing both locally and nationally. ∙ Helped to create greater disability awareness in Napa Valley through outreach and the creation of a disability subcommittee of the Napa Nonprofit Coalition. ∙ Created and organized “ArtAbility” a community art show and festival by bringing together more than a dozen organizations and the artwork of more than 100 artists with disabilities.

Responsible for the overall management, supervision, and strategic leadership of a nonprofit agency that provides job training, placement, social purpose enterprises, and supported living services to hundreds of individuals with a wide range of disabilities and economic disadvantages (including homelessness) in the San Francisco Bay Area. During my tenure, the agency budget grew from $2,000,000 to $7,000,000 per year, grew the fund balance from $50,000 to $2,000,000, and increased the number of individuals served from 100 to nearly 500. Expanded services by starting up a Supported Living and Independent Living program as well as expanding geographically into more parts of the east bay and serving individuals with a wider range of disabilities and challenges. Areas of strength include strong fiscal and business management, team development, collaborations, vision, and growth. Significant Achievements ∙ Became a charter member of One Treasure Island and served on its Board of Directors. One Treasure Island is an innovative and shining example of the good that can be accomplished when partnerships are formed among the public, private and nonprofit sectors. ∙ Grew the agency’s social enterprises to nearly 5 million dollars and employed approximately 150 individuals with disabilities. ∙ Established a Supported Living and Independent Living program to better meet the needs of individuals served. ∙ Recognized the huge homeless problem in San Francisco and became involved in local homeless committees and collaborations including the Homeless Employment Collaborative and One Treasure Island.∙ Successfully prepared for and achieved multiple three-year CARF accreditations.
