Volunteer Child Advocate assisting families with obtaining the necessary Special Education and Related Services.

Assisted families obtain special education services for their children, foster children. Taught children and families advocacy skills, including learning how to construct a successful Individual Education Plan and measurable outcomes. Suggested appropriate related services to benefit child's educational experience, books for parent's to read, and conferences for families to attend. Consulted with Special Education Director, Teachers and Staff on a regular basis. This was a volunteer position, and I enjoyed the entire experience.
