Extended Scope Practitioner Physiotherapist
CurrentWorking as part of an integrated service within musculoskeletal services linking with rheumatology and pain management , involving MDT meetings and collaborative working where required to aid the function and well being of the service users. Assessing and treating complex musculoskeletal patients within this service which may also involve patients with rheumatological or chronic pain management issues. Use of investigative tools to provide this service – IRMER trained to order MRI, X-rays, US and NCS which also aid the pathway of the service users as well as provision of exercise programmes. Ability to inject and use complex manual skills within the care of the patients. Triage of the patients from GPs, outliers and secondary care if required. Referral into other services as appropriate including orthopaedics / orthotics/ podiatry / neurosurgery. MDT meetings and liaison with GPs by participation at PEG meetings. Involvement with audits. Continued professional development links with physiotherapy team and training and supervision as required.
