Travel has always been my vocation, and it’s a job that I really enjoy. My entire career to date has been spent in the industry, and I have a wealth of experience across many sectors. Since leaving school I have trained and worked in High Street travel shops booking package deals for holidaymakers, groups departments where I was responsible for key accounts for high volume bookings, before eventually moving on to flights. Much of my career was spent as a flights specialist for a business travel agent. I also trained other staff on systems such as Galileo, and was the coordinator of the company computer systems. I was part of the Beta Test team when Travelport's Smartpoint was initally launched and had the opportunity to test and give feedback on the new system before general release. I have also had experience of marine travel bookings, and arranging the movement of security staff, weapons and ammunition to some of the most dangerous areas of the globe. More recently I was the travel manager for a luxury furniture company where I graduated their inhouse training programme.Outside of work I have a passion for motorsport. I used to be a member of a motorcycle racing club as a key member of the admin team, and I was also part of the executive committee within the club. I also enjoy traveling myself, and have had the opportunity to visit destinations such as Malaysia, Florida, Singapore, New York, Gothenburg, Vienna, Rotterdam, Thailand, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Paris.
