Oversee the financial, administrative and logistical management of the conference. Ensure the quality of the Scientific Program. Work with EC to refine and implement conference vision and goals. Develop and implement conference schedule. Prepare detailed budget planning with Local Organising Committee (LOC) for submission to EC. Submit completed budget planning to EC for review. Incorporate changes as directed. Ensure that LOC Chair adheres to the budget. Plan and facilitate structure and content of all conference planning meetings. In cooperation with EC, develop master conference timeline integrating detailed timelines submitted by LOC Chair and contractors. Manage all committee volunteers and professional management associated with the conference. Determine and communicate management structure for the conference. Request and collect status reports from LOC Chair to ensure conference planning process is on track. Authorize all committee travel and expenses. Monitor conference planning and financial progress through scheduled planning and review conference calls. Ensure that speakers and topics are appropriate, interesting, timely, and consistent with the conference theme. Prepare plenary speakers to address the conference audience. Create general information packet for Session Chairs. As needed, assist Area Chairs in the selection and confirmation of Session Chairs. Attend daily financial meetings with financial services contractor and Conference Manager. Participate in press conference and press interviews as scheduled by publicity contractor. Participate in Conference Review as directed by EC. Document Actions

The School Of Education

Teach courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level; Supervise B.A. studies, M.Ed research papers, and M.Phil. and Ph.D. theses; Develop, revise and evaluate curricula in clinical and counselling psychology for Tertiary Level Institutions in Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean; Set and moderate examinations for university and Tertiary Level Institutions throughout the Eastern Caribbean; Help to enhance the quality of Education in Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean through interaction with education administrators and teachers, including Faculty at Teachers’ Colleges; Collaborate with colleagues in the University to develop and implement a research agenda. Research agenda is comprised of two overlapping strands of clinical and educational psychology with emphasis on children and adolescence, learning, career decision-making, disabilities, mental illness, sexuality, and psycho-educational issues affecting students and teachers.

Lead the School of Education in the setting and advancing of the strategic academic direction and engage regular review procedures to monitor and progress the operational plan. Provide overall academic leadership of the department maintaining the highest possible standards in teaching and research. Lead the process of academic policy and planning for the department. Support the promotion and strengthening of the research culture within the department. Develop and monitor appropriate quality assurance mechanisms. Lead entrepreneurial activity, identifying and exploiting areas of future growth and re-direction and income generation. Ensure that statutory requirements are met and that university policies, systems and procedures are observed and applied. Ensure that the department meets the standards set by relevant professional bodies.Ensure that for all staff of all categories, effective arrangements are in place for their management and development, in keeping with the University’s policies and procedures. Ensure that arrangements are in place for the organisation of Health and Safety and a safe place of work is provided for all staff, students and visitors. Ensure that the process for allocating management, academic and other duties is fair and consistent.Maintain and improve the reputation of the department. Represent the department’s news and interests at University level and to external bodies. Call and chair departmental meetings as required to ensure effective consultation happens between students and staff.
