Monthly meeting of social media enthusiasts. Venue sponsors provide space, speakers donate their time and and breakfast sponsors give us the opportunity to keep the event free to attend. Started by Scott Baird in November 2009, the event quickly grew to 100 attendees monthly. Sharing the vision that Scott had from the 1st meeting of 20 people, I helped to organize ideas for speakers and presentations. In early 2011 Scott moved away from direct involvement and I had the privilege of taking coordinating events with the assistance of a committee. Events continue to attract 100 people, committee has expanded to 9 members, and we now have 8 regular sponsors. SMByyc held their 50th event in March 2014. Looking forward to the next 50!

Bow Valley Christian Church

Volunteer position - Coordinate 50 volunteers to provide 20 guests a place to stay for the nite, on the first Friday of every month.

As coordinator, with support and direction from the Liaison, External Volunteers, will schedule and recruit local and touring musicians to perform on the ArtBeat Stage. The stage runs each Friday afternoon from 4:30-5:30 pm, September thru June.

Dalhousie Community Centre

Artist Liaison - Worked with artists contracted to play at the club. Responsible for all hotels, transportation, getting them to sound check on time and working with them thru evening to ensure they were comfortable. Ensuring that all final payments were accruate and ready to release at end of evening.General Manager - Handled all ticket sales, implemented a new membership card system, worked as liaison between the board and the community centre, dealt with all issues during event, ensured timing of the evening, worked with volunteers and community centre to ensure close out at end of evening was completed.
