The United States Air Force Weapons School is responsible for providing graduate-level training, producing the world’s best weapons instructors. A highly elite group, members of this organization are in the top 2 percent in the Air Force. The Weapons School is comprised of 17 squadrons conducting advanced training in 15 different aircraft, teaching 18 weapons instructor courses at multiple geographically separated locations throughout the United States.As Secretary to the Commandant:- Provided administrative support to the Commandant and two deputies- Acted as administrative liaison between the command section and 17 squadrons throughout the continental United States- Managed and tracked all tasks assigned to subordinate units ensuring accurate, on-time completion- Managed and reviewed all performance reports, civilian appraisals, promotion recommendation forms, student training reports, and other personnel actions- Processed timecards for all civilian employees- Prepared briefing slides for staff meetings and conferences- Managed calendar for commandant and two deputies, deconflicting complex flying schedules ensuring both flying operations supervision and appropriate crew rest- Responsible for all travel arrangements to multiple locations involving commercial airlines or military aircraft, lodging, and ground transportation -- Ensured per diem limitations were not exceeded, and travel arrangements were within restricted guidelinesAs an event planner: - Coordinated boards for selection of students- Managed all aspects of Weapons School graduation ceremonies held twice a year (1,100 attendees, 400+ room nights at major Las Vegas hotel) -- Negotiated contracts, established budget, determined costs, and managed all funds (over $60,000) -- Created invitations, program, and wrote the script -- Worked with high-level guest speakers and their speechwriters - Planned and organized commanders conferences and other events
