My previous experience is research in American Indian Studies, particularly the Indigenous Populace of North Carolina. My current experience as an avid supporter of the Tuscarora Nation of North Carolina has led me to become knowledgeable as a Grant Writer, Public Relations Officer, and Community Development Officer. By combining my college experience with my current knowledge of networking and social media, I have become successful in Project Management, Grant Writing, Research, Financial Planning, Public Relations and Leadership with respect to the non-profit sector. These roles have allowed for the revitalization of the traditional Skaru're language, the investigation of contemporary issues surrounding the Tuscarora Nation of North Carolina, and create pathways to equitable representation for the Tuscarora People in many ways. My painting company, Longhouse Pro Painters, LLC is a family owned, HUB certified business located in Maxton, NC. Although I have only been in operation for less than 3 years, I have been painting proficiently since 2016. Our small town operation includes the performance of interior and exterior painting, wallpaper removal, wall repair, finishes of all types, and even murals. In the summer of 2022, Longhouse Pro Painters partnered with a local artist from the Red Springs Community, in which a project was completed focusing on the theme of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women+. The role of community, volunteering and giving back, and equitable representation for American Indians in NC has been at the forefront of my work, energy, and goals.
