I was responsible for managing all aspects of operations at the ThermoFisher Scientific facilility in Norcross, Ga. Unfortunately at the beginning of 2020, the decision was made to transfer operations to a sister site in the UK. So my focus on operations transitioned to doing what I could to make the transfer successful.

In 2001, my company acquired a couple products from another company. I was tasked to transfer those products to our facility. Because of these new products, the immunodiagnostics operations expanded, and I was placed into the role of Immunodiagnostics Supervisor.

In 1999, I was given the opportunity to transition from Quality Control into manufacturing. This was most likely the best move I ever made in my career. I went from testing our site’s immunodiagnostic products to manufacturing them. My time in Quality Control was invaluable, because it really made into my worst critic. I knew what the end result needed to.

I would have to revise documents like SOPs, DHRs, etc. This job really helped establish a firm foundation when it came to what was required to manufacture top.
