I was the deputy editor of the Goings On About Town section (the listings) for the New Yorker for ten years. My chief responsibility consisted of editing the Night Life listings, and I assisted in managing a staff of six editors. Prior to this post at The New Yorker, I worked at the magazine as an editorial assistant, and before that, as a messenger.

I've written for The New Yorker, The New York Times, Parade Magazine, GourmetLive, AARP Magazine, Arrive Magazine, and other places. In 2011, I conceived of and edited "Man With a Pan: Culinary Adventures of Fathers who Cook for their Families," a best-selling anthology featuring contributions by Mario Batali, Mark Bittman, Mark Kurlansky, Jim Harrison, Stephen King, and many others.

I reported on local news for the weekly paper on the resort island off of New England. That summer, Hurricane Bob swept up the East Coast, and I covered its landfall for the Providence Journal.
