Donald Osborn, PhDCurrent focus on building the North American Millets Alliance, following work done during the International Year of Millets (2023). My approach is interdisciplinary, thinking across the spectrum of millets as crops and foods, from production to consumption, and across geographies, with attention also to linguistic, cultural, and historic dimensions.Maintaining long-term interests in rural development, languages, and localization, esp. in West Africa. Wider interests in systems, organizations, and change.International specialization in Africa with focus on West Africa; experience in China and the greater Middle East. Work has generally revolved around some combination of international development, languages, and technology.
