I am a senior at Georgia College & State University, pursuing a major in Biology, with minors in Chemistry and Public Health, and a pre-medical concentration. Upon graduation from Georgia College, my goal is to attend medical school and ultimately make a positive impact in the field of healthcare. Taking courses such as Principles of Biology, Principles of Chemistry, Global Perspectives: The AIDS Pandemic, Organic Chemistry, Physics, Organismal Physiology, and Seminar in Medical Culture has equipped me with a solid foundation in fundamental principles that will help me succeed in medical school. In addition to academics, I am involved in various extracurricular activities which allow me to gain real-world experiences that enhance my knowledge and skills. At school, I work as a biology and chemistry tutor in the Learning Center and as a first-year guide helping incoming students transition to life in college. I am also involved in clubs such as the Pre-Medical Club, of which I serve as co-vice president, and the Council of Student Ambassadors, where I promote the university and act as a liaison between it and prospective students. I was a volunteer notetaker for Organismal Physiology and Introductory Physics II. Lastly, I am actively involved in a neuroscience research lab.Furthermore, I also work as a certified clinical medical assistant (NHA). Last summer, I worked as a medical assistant in a podiatry clinic. I am currently volunteering as a medical assistant at the Fayette C.A.R.E. Clinic for the remainder of the summer. Working in this position has provided me with invaluable hands-on clinical experience, which has furthered my desire to become a physician. Driven by my dedication to making a meaningful difference in healthcare, I continuously seek opportunities to expand my knowledge and skills.
