Am currently a Quality Assurance Specialist-Scientist for the U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research (Department of Defense-Defense Health Agency). My team provides regulatory oversight for all Army, Navy, and Air Force animal research protocols at the Institute. I have recently served as the Scientific Reviewer/Subject Matter Expert for the Defense Health Agency's Department of Clinical Investigation at Brooke Army Medical Center on Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas. I was responsible for vetting the scientific merit of all Air Force and Army human research study proposals for the southwest U.S. prior to the ethics review processes. I bring 20+ years of university IRB membership, funded, human and animal model biomedical research experience (PubMed.gov search Fogt, DL), as well as, teaching biomedical-related courses for undergraduate, graduate, nursing, and medical school students.
