During this internship, I contributed in the following ways: helped organize and design parts in AutoCAD, managed Hardware/Software team tasks in Microsoft Project, evaluated project drawings and hosted corporate progress meetings, developed and maintained parts lists/orders, contributed to assembly/testing and aided in drawing packages/government specifications, policies, applicable codes, regulatory, environmental and safety documentation.

Research focuses on High Energy Density Physics (HEDP), plasma physics, nuclear fusion, advanced diagnostic instrumentation and radiation source development.

Undergraduate Researcher at North Campus Medical Research Complex

During my freshman summer (2016), I was fortunate enough to gain research internship experience at the University of Virginia’s Physics Department studying Nuclear Particle Physics with Professor Stefan Baessler, Americo Salas Bacci, Matthew Hefele and Alexander Smith. The purpose of the study was to develop a low energy proton accelerator with an ultra-stable proton flux which would be used in the major experiment, Nab (Oak Ridge National Lab) to study weak-interactions in free-neutron beta decay. My main task was to develop a leakage current monitor in the Micro-channel plate detectors. This also includes integrating the results to the main data stream which is recorded in the proton accelerator read-out and control program (written in “LabVIEW"). This opportunity provided me with a clear mental and physical understanding of how real-time Engineers and Scientists think, live, and perform. This internship also helped me break the third tier of “Bloom’s Taxonomy” pyramid.

Glen Echo County Club, located in Normandy, Missouri, a St. Louis suburb, is a private golf club that was founded by George McGrew and his son-in-law, Albert Bond Lambert. Completed in 1901, it was the first 18-hole golf course in St. Louis and the first golf course constructed west of the Mississippi River.
