Dr Don Perugini was the founder of global technology company ISD Analytics, which operated in the US and Australia. ISD Analytics was acquired by Ernst and Young (EY) in 2015, with Simulait included in EY’s Synapse global suite of analytics products.Don led the development and commercialization of its award-winning product Simulait which allows organizations to accurately predict human behavior of population of consumers in volatile or rapidly changing consumer markets, or where there is limited customer data (e.g. new product launch, pricing, marketing, policy, and predicting the impact of disruptive technology). Don’s R&D focus was in technologies to mimic human intelligence and reasoning for predicting and automating human behavior, collaborating with defense organizations in the US (DARPA), UK, Canada, and Singapore. Don's specialization included artificial intelligence and cognitive computational models, integrating multiple disciplines such as micro-simulation, behavioral science and psychology, micro-economics, cognitive agent-based modeling, game theory and AI.Don applied the technologies to a range of military applications, including command and control (C2), wargaming, network centric warfare, information fusion and sensor networks, logistics and transport, emergency response, automated e-commerce, cyber security, and information operations. Don was also involved in the Future Operations Centre Analysis Laboratory (FOCAL) project, which uses artificial intelligence to create automated and intelligent virtual advisors to assist commanders with situational awareness and decision support for military planning. These concepts are now referred to (in the commercial sector) as Internet of Things (IoT), Chat bots, Autonomous Agents and Things, Virtual Personal Assistance (VPAs) and smart advisors.
