About Don Reef

I have spent over 33 years in outside sales positions in three different industries. My responsibilities have included working with fortune 500 companies to contract for and implement worldwide voice and data networks. Clients have included Kelly Services, Thyssen-Krupp, Dana Corporation and VW of America. My final job at Sprint was to manage the CUcorp / Sprint Credit Union Program. This was the fastest growing account at Sprint for many of the six years that I worked supporting this program. When I left the program we had 41 of the State Credit Union Leagues endorsing the program and we had over 20.6% of all Credit Union nationwide actively promoting Sprint to their members. My goal was always to provide a profitable growth engine for Sprint while offering excellent service and value to Credit Union members nationwide. And by virtually every metric we did exactly that. We worked with ever sales channel (retail - Sprint owned, national chains, our dealer network & Sprint Business) providing each with a custom value proposition and specialized support. Participating Credit Unions, Credit Union Leagues and most importantly Credit Union members also received the Sprcialist attention they deserved. My specialties include: Balancing value creation for Sprint with providing an actionable value propositions for Credit Union members. Sales data analysis combined with electronic communication strategies that inform and motivate our sales channels and Credit Union partners. Creating win - win - win relationships that move the needle on success..

Listed skills include Account Management, Selling, Sales, Direct Sales, and 45 others.

Grandfather To Hudson & Henry Bragg

Brighton, Michigan, United States

This role is the only thing that kept me sane through the covid pandemic. Because of Savannah's schedule we got to see him two or three times a week - early morning (5am - 9:30am) and again for dinner (5pm - 7:30pm). Watching & helping him grow is really special and hearing him say he wants to be with GiGi (Robin) & PaPa warms my heart.

After over 27 years with Sprint it was time to slow down and smell the roses. Well its been a great ride with 11 President's Circle wins, great clients and great teams to work with. When we were given a challenge we rose (pun intended) to the occasion and got the job done. I thank all those that participated. I am finding that the slower pace is nice and that I have been smelling the roses all along. Being able to spend more time outdoors with family and friends has its own huge rewards. And I am finding plenty to do (see Kayaking Michigan Creeks and CUUB Youth Advisor) that make an impact while keeping me out of trouble. Keep in touch and if you have an interesting challenge where innovative thinking, hard work and a good communication plan is needed please feel free to call or write. I have the time and temperament to dive into something new and exciting. Something that can use my skills, my network of doers and positive attitude lies ahead, I can feel it. Don586-491-7223

Kayak Michigan Creeks

On Moving Water Somewhere In Michigan.

If you are in Michigan and you are floating on navigable water you are not trespassing. You have legitimate right to exist at that spot. Because of non use many of our creeks are becoming clogged with downed trees and other debris making kayaking hard if not impossible.Kayak Michigan Creeks is an organization that supports your efforts to keep your local creeks (streams and rivers too) open to navigation. This includes proving encouragement, researching nearby waterways or even meeting you at your local creek with kayaks, manpower and tools to start the job. Really anything we can do to get you out on the water.Benefits include seeing your slow running muddy bottom creek turn into a clean running one with sandy / gravelly bottom with more wildlife and a better balance between mankind and nature. Besides you will feel better and be healthier as you get some exercise out in the fresh air.So let me know how I can help you adopt a local waterway to start it's transformation.

Nam - Sprint Credit Union Program

Metro Detroit

This account was assigned to me January 1st, 2006 at the time of the Nextel - Sprint merger. We had 32,000 active lines, two league endorsements (MI & HI) and about 175 Credit Unions promoting the program to their members. Gross adds each month were between 800 - 1,200 lines per month. This was one of 10 accounts where I was to grow revenue and increase customer satisfaction.Early on we (the CUcorp and Sprint teams) realized that the account could grow substantially based on the total opportunity and the potential for win - win - win partnerships across Sprint and the Credit Union movement. After one year we (at this time we = myself and 1/5 of a support person at Sprint and 1/2 position at CUcorp) consistently had over 100% year over year growth and 5% - 10% month to month gains. At that time 5 of my other accounts were released to teammates. My second year on the program continued to see fast growth and a very demanding schedule. I attended seven state Credit Union conventions as the success of the program attracted new league endorsements and Credit Union participation. Support was increased to a full time position and during the second half of the year my other large accounts (Kelly Services, VWoA/VWCredit, Thyssen Krupp) were given to teammates. None of our quotas changed but I got more time to work on strengthening the partnerships responsible for our success. Gross adds exceeded 6,000 lines in December and a second NAM and second full time support position was added to accelerate the growth trend.Fast forward to 2013. The Credit Union team has 5 full time members. Active lines are around 1.2 million. Leagues representing 41 of the 50 states are endorsing the program and about 1,200 CU's are actively promoting Sprint to their members. Incredible growth based on fantastic partnerships. Thanks to my teammates, client, channel & Credit Union partners. I've never worked harder for so long to accomplish so much. It's been great.

Various Sales Positions

Account Executive, Account Manger, Major Account Manger etc. The title has changed but the work remains the same. Attract, retain and grow business customers for Sprint. It started with dial tone wireline long distance, moved to dedicated access (T-1) long distance, added data services (x.25, point to point, Frame Relay, IP, MPLS) and then wireless services. Account size changed too. First it was NAPA, Hygrade Foods (the ballpark frank company) and Fasteners. Then came Stroh's, Mazda, George P. Johnson & Handleman. And finally Dana, Kelly Services, Thyssen Krupp and Volkswagen. All larger revenue streams, more complex networks (international challenges), bidding and decision making processes. Very interesting and challenging. Now I help manage - The Sprint Credit Union Program (See next entry), Sprint's largest and most successful partnership.

Director Of Sales

Premier Hospitality

Premier Hospitality owned and operated the Kalamazoo Hilton, the Three Rives Holiday Inn and the Ann Arbor Inn. I started my hospitality career at the Hilton as an account executive and worked my way into the assistant director of sales roll after one year. When Premier Hospitality bought the Ann Arbor Inn I was promoted to Director of Sales. I worked in that role for 1 1/2 years before leaving the industry. My 5 years in the Hospitality industry taught me a lot about marketing, sales management and crafting strategies to retain and grow our customer base.
