Donald Kay Riker, Ph.D. is President & Founder, On Point Advisors, LLC, a consumer health and beauty consultancy, and CEO, Modular Therapeutx, LLC, a developer of OTC TENS devices for low back pain. Dr. Riker's unusual talent encompasses innovating consumer health and beauty products, advancing new technology, and guiding organizations to identify and invest in disruptive concepts. He combines a rich corporate experience, out-of-the-box thinking, and entrepreneurial flare that often create opportunity not imagined. Currently he advises several CEO's of small to mid-sized healthcare companies on their technology strategy.As Associate Director & Research Fellow at Richardson-Vicks/P&G Dr. Riker supported innovation by assessing OTC switch candidates and claims support opportunities while managing over 125 clinical trials. There he worked on the switch of naproxen, the use of NSAID’s in colds, and managed the first academic/industry consortium funded to understand the pathogenesis of the common cold. Further, he authored the initial technical recommendation for P&G’s OTC switch of omeprazole (Prilosec) and the OTC potential of the emerging class of non-sedating anti-histamines. In 2001 Dr. Riker was recruited by Chattem, Inc, an acquirer of OTC products, to rebuild its R&D capability as its VP of R&D & CSO. His R&D team launched the highly successful Gold Bond Ultimate line and initiated development of TENS devices for the OTC market. In 2007 Don left Chattem to found On Point Advisors, LLC to lend his technical and business development know-how to the consumer healthcare industry. In 2009 he invested in and co-founded Modular Therapeutx, LLC to commercialize superior TENS technology for low back pain now available in US retail outlets.
