Ensured the streamlined operation of the IT Systems, in alignment with the business objectives of the Agency. One of the biggest challenges faced during the period at GREY was bringing the Finance and IT systems to comply with WPP Standards, with limited budgets and resources. My responsibilities included Daily Backup, Licensing, Monthly IT Reporting, Providing IT Solutions for Advertising Campaigns and supporting management to face International Audits, such as Sarbanes-Oxley Audit. During this period, a vast knowledge was gained on best practices and standards of UK & US public listed companies through WPP’s code of conduct, while actively participating in bringing agency operations to comply with WPP standards.

Commenced professional career as a Trainee Computer Instructor and learnt various subjects in IT, including Hardware, Software Development, Networking, Designing, CAD Drafting, Video Editing, 3D Animation and Computerized Accounting. The vast computer knowledge gained during a very short period of time, ensured a promotion up to the position of Lab In-Charge, and was also put in charge of conducting classes on Mastering Visual Basic Programming and Computerized Accounting at the institute from 2002 to 2004.Contributed to a number of private companies, as a freelancer, to transform their manual accounting systems to a computerized accounting platform by conducting various staff training programs. Further, developed payroll systems and database management systems to a number of small and medium scale companies in Sri Lanka. This 36-month period provided a good understanding about IT and Corporate Finance.
