Don Shackley BIO As Chief Information Officer for Steinberg Diagnostic Medical Imaging Center since 2001, Don Shackley has successfully spearheaded a continuous movement of constant progression to keep pace with the latest advancements in technology.A graduate of IBCA in California and attendance at many technical schools Shackley started his career in biomedical engineering with ATI Medical; changing directions in 1995 he had the opportunity to serve as a systems engineer for Nevada Medical Center one of the largest multi-specialty medical practices in Sothern Nevada where he was charged with revamping the company’s clinical systems infrastructure. In 1997 Don Shackley started his own health care-based consulting company ISCG. After a successful 4 year run sold off his interest in the company and accepted a position with SDMI to build an IT department that would take the company into the next generation of digital radiology. In 2007 while still working in a full-time capacity with Steinberg Shackley was invited to serve on the technical board as technical advisor for radiology and clinical infrastructure for the Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health in conjunction with UNLV. In 2008 Shackley still continuing a full-time position with SDMI became the acting Chief Technology Officer for the Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health working with Cleveland Clinic which ended with merging all IT infrastructures to Cleveland Clinic’s IT deportment in Cleveland Ohio. Recently Shackley’s team has been working on innovative distribution methods portals and other projects to allow Steinberg Diagnostic to interface directly with referring doctors Electronic Medical Records Systems. In 2011 Shackley was the first CIO in southern Nevada to receive the top tech exec award for his efforts in closing the gap with distributing electronic reports directly into referring doctors EMR systems.In 2018 Shackley left Steinberg Diagnostic to pursue a consulting opportunity with a large healthcare system in Spokane Washington, creating a new consulting business Athena Technologies providing critical workflow analyst and infrastructure change to the organization's primary clinical systems and network infrastructure. In mid-2020 after completing his consulting engagement in Spokane Washington moved his family back to Las Vegas Nevada continuing to bring his enterprise knowledge to business through Athena Technologies.In late 2020 Shackley was again nominated for the top tech award for his work in applying hyper-convergence infrastructure and cloud services to small businesses.
