Test Engineer
• Lead for the 8 MegaWatt (MW) system, consisting of permanent magnet motor / generator and Drive. This is an R&D project intended as a motor for pumps in the oil and natural gas industry or as a shipboard generator with intended speeds as high as 15,000 rpm. Powered by 4160 VAC Medium Voltage, loaded testing was conducted with two units coupled with one driving and the other acting as load, with the generator (load) returning the power to the grid. • Lead for the 7 kiloWatt (kW) Generator, an R&D project for a high-density brushless generator for unmanned aircraft in partnership with General Atomics Aeronautical Systems. • Lead for the Hybrid Electric Propulsion (HEP) unit, an R&D project for a 400 kW permanent magnet motor for a hybrid unmanned aircraft in partnership with General Atomics Aeronautical Systems. • Lead for battery systems, including the Snakehead Large Displacement Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (LDUUV) battery project. • Test Engineer for the Advanced Arresting Gear (AAG) program, an electromagnetic arresting gear system used on the Gerald R. Ford-class aircraft carriers; Test Lead for the AAG deadload testing conducted in Lakehurst, NJ. • Test Engineer for the Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System (EMALS) program, an electromagnetic aircraft launch system used on the Gerald R. Ford-class aircraft carriers.
