Building One Community's mission is to advance the successful integration of immigrants and their families. Our vision is one welcoming community in which all immigrants are thriving and contributing members. Founded in 2011 and now with a staff of 30 and a vibrant community center, B1C delivers compassionate service to make all immigrants feel welcome and to enrich the entire community. As Deputy Director, I supervise B1C's programs, which include English Language Learning, Immigrant Legal Services, and many others. While I was Executive Director and President of Connecticut Fund for the Environment/Save the Sound from 1992 to 2017, we had major successes protecting our region's environment and significant growth in both the financial support and size of the organization. We also implemented or began mergers with two other organizations (Save the Sound and Soundkeeper).
