• Led a team of 6 management and clerical level staff members (plan/assign work; training; onboarding; performance evaluation)• Developed and issued a Request for Bid and executed a multi-year $100,000 contract for Cal/OSHA safety training• Reviewed and analyzed State and local legislation to determine applicability/impact to existing programs• Wrote narratives and aggregated data to support continuance of a $29M annual Division budget • Monitored $40M Trust Fund expenditures and account balances; reconciled variances • Extracted financial data and generated reports to inform management of Trust Fund balances/discrepancies• Calculated salary savings reports; performed cost analyses, projections, and estimates • Crafted a Request for Bids and successfully awarded an $80,000 contract to a financial consultant to perform a Fee Study of the Trust Fund• Procured services through the competitive Request for Proposals process and served as contract administrator from contract execution to closeout for a $300,000 CDBG-funded contract that facilitated code violation repairs in rental housing units • Authored City Council reports that amended local ordinances and resulted in more frequent housing inspection of problem properties to help the City’s most vulnerable rental occupants • Created 11 City Council motions to request approval of tenant relocation assistance benefits that assisted more than 70 residents with financial support • Developed and implemented a process, policy and procedure that reduced the processing time to acquire Purchase Order approval of locksmith services for inspection ‘lockouts’ from two weeks to three days
Authored a white paper to "Oppose Unless Amended" Assembly Bill AB 672 (Klehs) that proposed opening California reservoirs to public recreation use including bodily contact, and shifted jurisdiction from the local agency to the State. The white paper outlined LADWP's precautionary measures to be included in the bill and resulted in the City accepting the recommendation in its official legislative position. Ultimately, the Assembly Member included our proposed revisions into the final language of the bill. I attended weekly Metropolitan Water District meetings, worked with lobbyists in Sacramento and Washington D.C., and tracked legislation related to water resources in the City of Los Angeles.
Reported to the Assistant General Manager and administered the Neighborhood Council Funding Program and the Neighborhood Council Leasing Program. These programs provided annual funding for 99 Neighborhood Councils who act as advisory bodies to the City Council, and provided them with funding for lease space to establish headquarters in their local communities.
I promoted from Management Assistant to Management Analyst at EDD where I led monthly technical assistance training to WorkSource center staff regarding compliance with the federal Workforce Investment Act. Served as a program monitor responsible for conducting monitoring of 25 local nonprofit agencies to determine compliance with local, federal and state laws.
