With the help of great mentors and people around me, I have been fortunate enough to gain some amazing experiences within the last two years. A few of these include: - Interning at Tesla in California- Working for the Department of Energy at the National Energy Technology Laboratory- Working for the Department of Energy at the Virtual Reality Applications Center - Taking classes, doing research, and teaching English to underprivileged men in New Delhi, India- Starting my own e-commerce business- Acting as the Regional Finance Chair for the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE)In the modern era, it is difficult to find engineers who can communicate effectively across multiple departments. Due to this, I have worked hard to capitalize on my people skills to help mitigate the disconnect between engineering and other departments. Through my experiences, I have gained insight on communication, computer science, energy, lean manufacturing, and classical mechanical engineering. This wide array of experiences will forever be growing and help demonstrate my ability to adapt and lead in different environments. As a child who grew up in a low-income household, my successes always draw me to help those around myself. This has led to speaking engagements where I communicate the value of Learning, Networking, and Confidence. As an engineer who thrives on personal contact and confidence, my skills and success depend on the great people and mentors around me. Consequently, I am drawn to great organizations that bring together great people to solve some of the biggest problems our world is facing. Furthermore, my focus on the methods behind learning new skills has ignited my passion for approaching new problems that require new skills and thoughts.
