As an intern I am part of the Active products department at NNE. During these five months I have the opportunity to participate in several projects alongside my supervisor, NNE and costumer engineers or experts.The project tasks involve making solution suggestions, participating in meetings and workshops with the costumer, develop process diagrams (piping and instrumentation, process flow, layout) and implement the decided solutions.Besides the meetings and design work, being at the Kalundborg office of NNE gives a great opportunity to familiarize with the Novo Nordisk site, see different engineering solutions and extend the theory from university with real-life experience.Currently I am aiming for getting more familiar with the life of other disciplines, with high interest regarding automation, mechanical and sustainability.

I am part of Aarby volleyball as a member since 2019. October 28th.The roles, shown below, helped me to develop several skills and evolve both physically and mentally.2019 Fall – Pres.: Player2019 Fall - Pres.: Game secretary2020 March - April: Online trainer2021 April – Pres.: Board member of Aarby Volleyball2021 September - 2023 June: Coach for kids and teens team2021 September - Pres.: Referee Team supporter (assistant coach, statistician)2022 April – Pres.: Chairman of Aarby Volleyball Social media responsibleCurrently, and for the future, we are working on gathering sponsorships among others, which for we aim to earn more publicity.With the developing youth teams, we plan to attend more tournaments and build an environment where everyone can find a team to play with, no matter age, experience level, time or if they want to compete or just some free-time fun.I hope that we can keep up the great work, we restarted after the covid shutdowns, and to make this club popular in the area and the players happy to be members at Aarby volleyball.

As part of a pilot scale study, I am responsible for running and evaluating the performance of two membrane bioreactor pilot plants.The focus of my bachelor project is to compare membrane filtration with the currently used solution (secondary clarifiers) and evaluate their performance based on effluent quality.Besides that, the CIP procedures are also in focus regarding frequency, chemical consumption and environmental impact.This project is probably my most hands-on and practical experience so far, compared to design work and lab scale experiments before during my studies, and NNE experiences. I am in the same area as the equipment, and as I learnt pilot plants require a lot of problem solving, trouble shooting and ideas on how to operate and maintain.I have the opportunity to consult with skilled and experienced individuals from both supplier companies on a weekly basis, and together with the make the study even more informative and representative. Besides them, the colleagues from Novozymes Environmental operations are also a great help and they are quite excited about the project as well.I hope to finish this project and with it my university studies with a good grade, but for sure I have gained a lot of skills and experience.
