When I first started off my career as a young Marine Resource Economist at the Ministry of Fisheries in Namibia, I firmly believed in this being the field that I would diligently be retiring from. A series of permutations and serendipities let me to working within international relations at a University of Helsinki in Finland where I was able to develop my greatest passion that lies within encountering people from diverse backgrounds. Each encounter has provided an incomprehensibly relevant added value to my professional and personal experiences. In my current professional role, I am mainly focusing on outreach strategies for multilingual residents of Espoo and Helsinki to promote the equality and inclusion of multilingual residents born in 1974 or earlier and to enhance their active participation, well-being and functional capacity. The themes close to my heart are Peer Support, Conscious Parenting, Women Empowerment, Mental Health, Family Diversity, Two-way Integration and Intercultural Encounters. I have extensive experience in the non-profit organization management industry around these themes. My skills are in Public Speaking and Facilitation, Strategic Partnerships, Building Networks, Training in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) and Strategy.Throughout my different professional and volunteer roles, it has been a blessing to share my passion with clients over the years. My part of the process is in building connections between actors in different sectors and enhancing the process of joining this vision between otherwise unlikely parties.
