Facilitating group counseling and expressive activities with teens 12-17 years old. Preparing helpful materials for an excellent, engaging group experience for clients. Encouraging clients to actively participate in hard topics (if they feel comfortable to do so) such as trauma experienced in childhood or adolescence and continuing trauma, the experiences of being in active addiction, coping with mental health struggles, discussing anxiety, depression, loneliness, and misunderstanding: feelings often experienced by pre-teens, teenagers, and young adults, normalizing and understanding these feelings and planning healthy coping skills to use for when they arise, discussing what they want their life to be like and planning realistic steps to get there, discharge planning for a safe, content, and hopeful life on the outs, free from the perils of drug and alcohol addiction.
