Dorcas is a passionate social tech entrepreneur and the Co-founder & CEO of OnIt, an innovative startup focused on empowering Africa’s informal economy—the backbone of our continent. She is on a mission to unlock opportunities for blue-collar workers, helping them thrive through access to skills training, and global market access. Through OnIt, Dorcas has created a seamless system offering essential household services like laundry, grocery delivery, cleaning, and on-demand artisans, directly impacting households and underserved communities. She is also the driving force behind SkillsHive, a platform by OnIt dedicated to upskilling blue-collar workers, equipping them with digital, vocational, and relevant workplace skills enabling them to thrive in today's digital economy. Under her leadership, SkillsHive has trained over 3000 blue-collar workers, and connected them to sustainable income opportunities, thus fostering economic inclusion and growth. With a B.Sc(Ed) in Economics from the University of Abuja and certifications in entrepreneurship, social impact, and digital transformation, Dorcas combines over 10 years of experience in community development, business administration, technology, partnerships and social impact to create sustainable solutions for underserved communities. She has also partnered with Portfolio 9 and other platforms to support and promote African entrepreneurs thus reaching over 50,000 individuals. Dorcas’s unwavering commitment to empowering informal workers and revolutionizing access to essential services has earned her recognition and funding for OnIt from the Tony Elumelu Foundation, the Goshen Impact Fund and Flourish Africa supporting her transformative impact. She is passionate about using technology, training, and community engagement to drive economic transformation in Africa’s informal sector.
