Doreen Appiah-Num is a graduate from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana where she graduated with a BSc. Biomedical Science. She served as a Teaching and Research Assistant in the same university after her studies. Doreen is a volunteer, SDGs advocate, youth leader, and an aspiring medic. Her interests and works span beyond the academia to promoting the sustainable development goals, volunteering and engagement in various leadership positions.Doreen is particularly motivated by contributing solutions to social issues, amplifying the voice of victimised persons and being a role model to younger girls. She believes there is a vital role for young people in global development. She speaks English and Twi, but can read and understand basic French and Chinese also. Currently, she is the Partnership and Fundraising Coordinator of School Farms, a non-profit organization that empowers local community schools to grow their own food while creating a space to help students gain practical skills and explore opportunities in agriculture.She is also a volunteer at Sickle Life Ghana and the LynnCare Foundation.
