Carolina Pad was a privately-owned and operated supplier of fashion school/office supplies with nearly 100 domestic employees and international offices in China and United Kingdom.I was hired by the company to establish the human resources department. Reporting to the President/CEO and COO, I established departmental roles/responsibilities and all HR policies, processes, and programs. I developed and implemented multiple employee wellness programs and cultivated a family-friendly environment to increase employee moral and satisfaction. These initiatives gained the company local recognition with The Charlotte Business Journal Healthiest Employers Award (2012) and Charlotte Parents magazine Family-Friendly 50 Award. Talent Management was also a priority at this organization and I selected and implemented a performance management program using SuccessFactors. In collaboration with management, this program helped to identify core competencies for all positions so that we could begin to manage key talent resources through performance reviews and goal setting.

I served as the Chairperson of the Training and Development Task Force focused on increasing executive participation and identifying and meeting training needs for managers and consultants.One of my most notable accomplishments was the selection and implementation of the Osprey World of Learning, the company’s first Intranet-based training program, for which we achieved a 65% participation rate. In addition, I introduced a daily online employee communication forum “Good Morning, Osprey” to keep nearly 200 employees informed of important news and events, and provide motivational messages.
