Sr. Project Engineer
Current• Assumed technical and engineering responsibilities for project leadership, design and development, contracts, determining technical objectives, risk assessments, research, organizing, planning, scheduling, coordinating workloads, customer design reviews, prototyping, testing and qualification of military products while maintaining established milestones and expectations. The solution to advance technical engineering problems and develop new or existing business was done with limited direction. • Provided solutions to thermal management projects on Navy nuclear thermal propulsion programs such as Columbia (SSBN-X) and Virginia (SSN) class submarines. Integrated electric motors, fans, heat exchangers, power supplies, heaters, machined parts, MIL-COTS, connectors, circuit boards, fittings and MIL-STD components per NAVSEA, and of different materials and finishes.• Delivered compliance matrices, part and assembly drawings, wire schematics, work flows, standards, manufacturing work instructions, installation/maintenance manuals, testing plans and reports while verifying compliance with customer specifications, safety standards, First Article Inspections (FAI) and AS 9100D/ISO 9001 documentation standards. • Performed testing in a safe manner, and in accordance with established operating procedures and practices. Airflow (AMCA 210), acoustic and structure-borne (MIL-STD-740), EMI/EMC (MIL-STD-461), Vibration (MIL-STD-167-1), Shock (MIL-STD-901), Qualification Testing (DO-160D), thermal (ASTM C518) and humidity (MIL-STD-810).• Applied standard engineering and scientific principles, concepts, theory, and practice in the field of Mechanics, Thermodynamics (conduction, convection and radiation), Aerodynamics and Fluid Dynamics to design thermal and fluid systems on Boeing P-8 Poseidon 737-800, MQ-1 Predator and Super Hercules C-130J while ensuring accuracy, completeness and timeliness of work.
