As a senior software developer and team lead, I contributed to multiple key projects from the company’s portfolio. I designed and developed a peer review radiology portal, worked on a scalable and resilient auditing system, redesigned a distributed user management system with instant replication, as well as many other front-end and back-end features.Over the years, I developed a strong understanding of the PACS systems, radiology viewers, highly-distributed and resilient systems and gained important insights in the radiology software industry as well as the regulatory context under which it operates. I was recruited to develop a highly scalable live auction engine for the UK's leading auto salvage auction. I designed a bidding architecture that used a (back then) very new and experimental live event technology (Comet/AJAX Push) to handle client requests. Following a proof-of-concept, I implemented a client and server API that abstracted the new communication channels to make it compatible with the existing enterprise application.I also developed the UI for this application, based on reusable components capable of taking advantage of the new, near-instant communication channels as well as the highly-optimized database servicing the auction. Key Achievements:- among the first in the industry to release the next generation UI based on live events- greatly reduced the load on the cluster servers by switching to persistent connections - achieved massively better performance and scalability with the new auction engine and considerably reduced the number and execution time of related database queries.- gained an even bigger market share by providing a superior user experience

Vingenio Software was founded by UK investors with the purpose of taking remote desktop control to a new collaborative level. Before applications like TeamViewer became popular, being able to share the desktop with a large group of people and give control to a remote party was a novelty in the industry. We designed and developed a solution that was later successfully used in schools and universities.Developed a Java VNC (Virtual Network Computing) Tunnel and Broadcast server that allowed multiple clients to access a remotely controlled computer. Designed and implemented a VNC client capable of taking over control of remote computers as well as work in read-only mode.Key Achievements:- Achieved great performance while keeping the network traffic at minimum.- Developed a complex system capable of broadcasting graphical data from shared desktop in real-time while having hundreds of remotely connected clients.
