I have successfully completed an MSc in Drug Discovery with Distinction, at the University of Nottingham, where I have gained a comprehensive understanding of the principles of drug discovery and development, DMPK, and practical techniques. I have further expanded my knowledge of Medicinal Chemistry through various projects, including my current individual research project focused on designing, synthesizing, and developing novel intracellular allosteric ligands for the Human β2-Adrenoceptor. This project has allowed me to enhance my molecular modeling skills using SeeSAR, as well as plan and execute multiple synthetic pathways.Prior to my MSc, I successfully completed a BSc degree in Medicinal Chemistry with First Class Honours at the University of Sunderland. During my undergraduate studies, I gained valuable wet lab skills in an organic chemistry setting, conducting multiple synthetic reactions. This experience culminated in my research project, which involved the novel synthesis of the natural product Bauerine C, a core scaffold for the development of new kinase inhibitors. I effectively planned and executed various synthetic transformations, employing analytical and purification techniques such as NMR and flash chromatography. Additionally, I have honed my ability to perform comprehensive literature searches using chemistry databases and effectively apply the findings to overcome synthetic challenges. I am well-organized and possess excellent record-keeping and documentation skills, ensuring accurate and precise documentation of experimental procedures and results.During my studies, I worked as a part-time waiting staff member at Bistrot Pierre Nottingham, where I continuously improved my teamwork, organization, and management skills while balancing my work and university studies.One of my proudest achievements includes being awarded two Royal Society of Chemistry prizes and a High Force prize for achieving the highest score in the final project and being the highest achieving student on the BSc (Hons) Medicinal Chemistry course.Furthermore, I have maintained my passion for volleyball alongside my studies, participating in the BUCS league and NVL Division 1 volleyball competitions. These experiences have contributed to my acceptance into my university's Elite Athlete Scheme at the University of Sunderland.
