Operates, develops, and implements the Head Start Family and Community Partnership Unit policies and procedures by planning and managing the total operations of the unit programs and activities in accordance with the Head Start Act and federal performance standards. Issues disciplinary actions, and handles employee, parent, and community complaints and grievances. Works individually and within groups to train staff on policies and procedures to ensure compliance. Recommends hiring, terminations, and promotion of staff within the unit. Assists in preparing budgets, grants, work plans, and procedures while identifying the needs of the families and communities involved in the Head Start experience. Develops individual development plans to promote career growth for unit and staff. Also assists with the coordination of the Policy Council encouraging parent and community involvement

Acted as the community liaison and supervisor for the Community Action Program of Palm Beach County target area center. Increased public knowledge of county and other human services and programs by participating in health fairs, community events, and meetings of church groups, local government agencies, social service agencies, and private organizations. Collaborated with other government agencies, service providers, social service agencies, and community partners in an effort to create opportunities to market available programs, share information, and create a network for referrals. Supervised target area center in Belle Glade that provided direct services to adult clients seeking assistance with grant funded programs that include developing long term solutions for low income families.

Made contact with families with allegations of abuse, neglect, and/or maltreatment. Responded to allegations, determined findings, and entered information into the Florida Safe Families Network and other systems. Responded to the Florida Abuse Hotline reports and determined immediate risk to the child. Conducted child safety assessments and documented those findings including providing a safety plan for victims of domestic abuse. Opened, maintained, and closed files related to families being served. Scheduled and gathered information for and participated in case staffing, transfer staffing, and court hearings. Also performed on-call duties including arranging for emergency placement for children at risk.
