Served in corps-level HUMINT elements at FT Hood TX and Wiesbaden, GE. Provided tactical level interrogator support to include FTX and live-environment training. Provided direct translator/interpreter support. Assignments included:1988. Border Residence Office (BRO) Bad Hersfeld, GE, Interrogator/Liaison Officer. Non-commissioned officer at one of 7 Border Residence Offices within USAREUR. Conducted German-language debriefings of intelligence sources, translated documents from German to English, prepared Intelligence Information Reports (IIRs) based on collection requirements levied by United States Army and national-level agencies. Participated in combined intelligence collection efforts along 144 kilometers of the Inter-German Border (IGB). Responded to US Army and Defense Intelligence Agency intelligence collection requirements. Prepared and editing intelligence collection reports produced in the BRO. Conducted liaison with intelligence contacts, West German Customs, Border, Federal Criminal Office, and Police officials, and higher US Army intelligence elements. Worked with Federal Republic go Germany (FRG) officials by participating in joint border patrols and briefings. Coordinate official overt/covert collection contacts as well as official overt functions.
