As a mediator and arbitrator since 1998, I serve on the panel of mediators of the NYC Civilian Complaint Review Board, the EAC Network's panel of mediators for civil/small claims courts, the panel of mediators and arbitrators of the NY County Lawyers Association's Committee on Fee Disputes, and the panel of arbitrators of Finra.Prior to beginning this second career, I practiced as an architect and owners' representative. From 1985 to 1992 I was an Owners' Project Manager, in succession, for the construction of One Pierrepont Paza in Brooklyn, NY for the Forest City Development Group, for building renovations and alterations at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, and Interiors Project Director for the design and construction of two new buildings at Chase MetroTech Center in Brooklyn. Before 1985 and again beginning in 1992 I was and am the principal of a small architectural firm whose work has included residential renovations and alterations, corporate space planning and design, and consultations in energy conservation and legal proceedings involving construction cost overruns.
