About Doris Park

I want to advocate for individuals in underserved communities by providing an equitable education that allows them to set and achieve high goals. In my experiences volunteering, studying, and working in underfunded and under-resourced schools, I have noticed a pattern of setting low expectations and a culture of hopelessness that spreads to students and families. I want to be part of a shift in mindset and school culture that sets students up for success in every aspect of their lives.I am currently volunteering at and a director of COVE, a small organization that provides free, virtual tutoring services to families and individuals in an effort to create more opportunities for success and close the achievement gaps. I am also pursuing my master's degree in school counseling in the hopes that I could be part of creating a school-wide change that fosters the holistic development of the student.
