Dorisa began her dance journey at the age of 19 by enrolling in Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, and obtained her Diploma in Dance in 2015. After graduation, she worked as a freelance dance educator in studios and schools, and also served as an artistic coordinator with Jump Productions. Her passion for using dance and performing arts to aid individuals still resonates in her current work. She strongly believes that art can be a powerful tool in communicating messages that touch the heart rather than just the mind.Dorisa has choreographed performances for a variety of events such as SYF, Get The Beat Singapore/Asia/World Tour, CSTD, Comdance Australia, Haisu China Competition, IMPACT Dance Adjudicators, Asia Pacific Dance, and Singapore International Dance Challenge. She has also performed under the guidance of renowned choreographers and directors including Rei Poh, Goh Shou Yi, Dr Filomar Tariao, Kay Grace Lee, Sarah Knox from New Zealand and Yvonne Ng from Canada.Having spent several years in the workforce, Dorisa remained eager to further her studies, leading her to pursue a Bachelor of Arts - Performance Making at NAFA & University of London in 2021, with graduation expected in 2023. Her thirst for knowledge and appreciation for various forms of art, not just dance, has resulted in her creating works that combine theatrical elements with dance. This has broadened her perspective on performing arts and pushed her creative boundaries, resulting in impactful works that hopefully resonated with those that came across it.
