Doris Estrada is Manager for the expansion unit of ecoins in Guatemala, and also is the General Director of her own business Consultores Asociados de Centroamérica that offers Media Relations in Guatemala and Belize. She has 32 years of experience in communications,Being a student of journalism, in 1991, she started writing health reports in Prensa Libre, the most influential newspaper in Guatemala. In 1994 she became the Editor in Chief of Revista AMIGA, a women´s magazine of the same publishing house she worked at.From 1996 to 2000, she worked at Siglo21 as the Editor in Chief of the health section and commercial supplements. In 2000, she started to work in public relations. Now have 23 years of experience in this area with an extensive background in media relations.The health projects are her passion. Now she has a Magister in Productivity in Health Science, to be more focused in the medical and marketing goals.Being the Director of the Communication Agency for Teletón, she was coodinating the campaign of attitude where eighty Mayors and the President took the challenge of working all day in a wheel chair. It was the cover story for several newspapers.Her public relations company was hired by GIZ -German International Cooperation Agency- to be the responsible of communications with journalist and allies for the XI Forum for the transformation Social-Environmental conflicts in Latin America, which was held in Guatemala city.Doris Estrada have trained spokespersons for Kidney Transplanted Patient Association in El Salvador 2005, Secretariat for Food and Nutrition Security of the Presidency, in 2005. Staff of the National Committee Disaster Reduction, 2006. Ministry of Health Programs Coordinators, in the context of Influenza H1N1, 2009, Teletón, 2011. Kidney Transplanted Patient Foundation, 2013. Volunteers Leaders from the Guatemalan Volunteer Center, 2015 and Iberoamerica Cardiologist in 2018.She has made media relations for brands as Pfizer, Novartis, GSK, Roche; Novi, from Facebook, FedEx, Fifco, ProChile, and coordinate the Zika Prevention Campaign in Guatemala for SC Johnson, among others.Her most recent challenge is to change the behavior of the Guatemalan, towards the habit of collecting, cleaning, drying and separating recyclable materials from each home, to deliver them ready for recycling.
