Dorit Chomer has a wealth of experience with all mental and physical disabilities, including heart attack, stroke prevention and rehabilitation. Being a survivor of the above herself, she is a living example of the benefits that exercise can have on rehabilitation.At the age of 59, after several years of ill health following a spinal injury after a parachute accident, a heart operation, two strokes, a brain injury and worst of all, severe bouts of bipolar (manic depression), she was ready to close the active chapter of her life and was searching for old people's home.Instead, she reinvented herself as a fitness instructor, and now trains all members of parliament and parliamentary staff running support groups throughout the Houses of Parliament.She works with injured ex-Service men and women of all ages and the bipolar society. Dorit is also on several Parliamentary groups and committees for the disabled, lesbian gay bisexual transgender inclusion groups, diversity and ethnic minority groups.
